On 26 January 2026, the Embassy of India in Tunis celebrated India’s 77th Republic Day at Hotel El Mouradi, Gammarth, with over 250 guests, including diplomats, officials, and members of the Indian community. The event, attended by Her Excellency Fatma Thabet Chiboub, Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy of Tunisia, featured speeches and cultural performances, including music by Cherif Aloui and a Kathakali dance by Vineet Pillai. Ambassador Dr. Devyani Khobragade highlighted India’s democratic journey, economic progress, global initiatives like the International Solar Alliance, and reaffirmed strong India-Tunisia ties, expressing optimism for advancing bilateral cooperation in 2026.
