"As part of celebrations in the run up to the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas to commemorate the 147th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patelg, the Embassy of India, Tunis organized a 'Unity Run' commemorating the great contributions of the Ironman of India in nation building and to recognize the contribution, unwavering will and efforts to unify the princely states into the Republic of India on 30th October, 2022. The 'Unity Run' started from Stad El Manzah to the Embassy of India premises in Mutulleville. The event received a great and enthusiastic participation from local and Indian diaspora especially representatives of Indian diaspora M/s Kalpatru Power Transmission Limited, M/s Tunisian Indian Fertilizers Limited (TIFERT), M/s Wabagh, M/s Satguru Travels among others. The event also received active participation from the Mayors of El Manzeh and Ain Khadra including representatives of Ministry of Youth Affairs, Tunis".

The 'Unity Run' was flagged off by Ambassador Shri N.J. Gange with Mr. Paramjeet Singh, Head of Chancery given a introductory remarks about the role and contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel towards Indian Freedom and unification of princely states into the Union of India. Ambassador Shri N.J. Gangte concluded with thanks all participants who showcased a strength of solidarity to run commemmorating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and informed that Govt. of India has taken a very significant initiative taken to mark birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as Unity Day. He also thanked Indian diaspora and Mayors of Al Menzah and Ain Khadra terming it as Uniy of India and Tunisia.
